The use of heart rate monitors has been integrated into physical education teacher training courses at Utah State University. Among them are the Strategies and Materials for Teaching Fitness course involving the development of a secondary school fitness education program, and the Principles of Conditioning course involving the development of personalized fitness plans for clients. The lab work included in the two courses is discussed.
