Artist Nam June Paik ranks prominently among video artists as a member of the group Fluxus. Paik was influenced by John Cage into pursuing minimalist and deconstructionist themes that have become the precursors of current music videos. Paik has also explored the themes of Zen Buddhism and culture in works such as 'TV Buddha,' and the representation of art icons using old television sets playing similar image patterns.
