WESTBORO - After more than a year of negotiations, the teachers union and School Committee have officially reached an impasse. And, in a rare move, the School Committee is looking to state officials for help.
The Westboro Teachers Association rejected the School Committee's contract offer in October, in a 162-155 vote. Both sides have met at least 18 times since negotiations began in February 2007.
In a six-hour mediation session Tuesday, the two sides failed, once again, to reach an agreement.
