A CHEF tried to speed off in his impounded car while a mechanic clung ondesperately to the vehicle.
Andrew Millar, 22, was yesterday jailed for 16 months and banned for drivingfor three years.
He had initially been charged with attempted murder after storming into thepound and driving at staff who tried to stop his getaway but admitted reducedcharges of breach of the peace and reckless driving.
Perth Sheriff Court heard that Millar's car had been towed away by PerthCouncil over unpaid parking fines totalling several hundred pounds.
