John C. Weaver, Ph.D, an iconic member of the paint and coatings industry, passed away in January of this year at his home in Cleveland, OH. He was 99. An early supporter of the FSCT and Honorary Member of the Cleveland Society, he was technical editor of the original JOURNAL OF PAINT TECHNOLOGY.
Dr. Weaver received his B.S in chemistry from Denison University in 1930 and earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Cincinnati. He taught for a year at UC before joining Sherwin-Williams Company in 1936, and continued there until 1979. Although he ...
