Fully 22 years had passed since the Canadian Opera Company's last encounter with the devil's henchman when the COC raised the curtain on Nicholas Muni's production of Gounod's Faust at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts in February, and Mephistopheles seemed to have aged considerably during the interim.
