More than $1 million was raised at the Jackie Robinson Foundation's 2008 Annual Awards Dinner at New York City's Waldorf-Astoria Hotel.
The dinner paid tribute to distinguished individuals who embody the humanitarian ideals of the late baseball pioneer Jackie Robinson, and also raised funds for the foundation that provides college scholarships and mentoring to academic@ gifted minority students.
