Visionary science fiction writer Arthur Clarke passes away
Colombo, Mar 19 (PTI) Visionary science fiction writer Arthur C Clarke, who introduced the concept of communications satellites to the world and authored more than 100 books on space, science and future, died here in the wee hours today.
Ninety-year-old Sir Arthur Clarke, a British national, lived in Sri Lanka, his adopted country, from 1956 until his death today.
Sir Arthur, who battled debilitating post-polio syndrome since the 1960s, breathed his last at 1:30 am (local time).
