Isopropanol capacity grows dramatically.(Organics)

The total capacity to produce isopropanol (iso-propyl alcohol) in China reached 140 000 t/a at the end of 2006 with actual output of 115 000 tons. The annual growth of output had been around 11.4% on average from 2001 to 2006. In addition to CNPC Jinzhou Petrochemical Company Ltd. (100 000 t/a) and Shandong Hi-tech Chemical Group (30 000 t/a), there are a number of small producers (capacity mostly around 1 000 t/a)--Shanghai Solvent Plant, Jinan Chemical Plant, CNPC Jinxi Petrochemical Company Ltd., Beijing Institute of Chemical Reagents and Tianjin No.3 Experimental Plant, ...
