A senior Fianna Fail councillor has slammed a new candidate selection process to be introduced for next year's local elections as "dictatorship nonsense".

The party's leader on the county council, Clr. Frances Conaghan has criticised plans by the party to select some candidates for next summer's local elections by interviews to be carried out by senior party members.
