Indonesia's glass industry is suffering a setback in competitiveness as a result of the surge in production cost and competition from imported products especially sheet glass and safety glasss, the types of glass used much in the country.

Producers of sheet glass in the country ask the government to use safeguard mechanism to curb imports especially from China as imports have hurt the domestic industry.
