AN ICI worker led police on a high-speed chase through town at speeds of up to 70mph while almost two-and-a-half times the alcohol limit.
Jonathon Robert Maguire, 23, almost crashed the grey MG ZS car he was driving into another car travelling in the opposite direction, Hartlepool Magistrates' Court heard.
The pursuit came to an end when Maguire abandoned the car and fled on foot near Lowdale Lane, near King Oswy Drive, Hartlepool.
