Ex-UNLV football star slain in what friend calls racist attack.(Randy Brewer, University of Nevada, Las Vegas)

Randy Brewer, a well-liked 22-year-old former football player at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, recently was brutally slain by a gunman in an attack which one friend termed racially motivated.

Brewer and his girlfriend, Lauree Fujiuchi, were shot as they sat in a car outside a popular night club on the Las Vegas Strip by a White assailant.

"It was a crime of ignorance. if it wasn't a hate crime, then why did he stand over him and keep firing his gun," queried John Price, a former teammate of Brewer's quoted in the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
