The Centre City Development Corp. raised the curtain on the Balboa Theatre's $26.5 million renovation with a 1920s-themed gala benefit Jan. 31.
The gala attended by hundreds of theater lovers featured a street fair celebration at Horton Plaza, including food, cocktails, performances and brief comments from public officials followed by performances inside the historic venue.
"This theater is spectacular," said county Supervisor Greg Cox. "It is great to see it come back to its great luster."
