Island farrier takes skills to Shetlands.

SKILLS shortages in the Isle of Man are often in the news, so it is refreshing to hear about areas in which the Island is able to export expertise.
Farrier William Striven has been working in the Shetland Islands after their only farrier retired last year.
While there is not enough work for a full-time farrier in the Islands, the lack of anybody to shoe the Scottish Isles' equine population was creating a health and safety issue for horses and humans alike.
