OWAIN Glyndwr has been unveiled as the nation's leading icon from Welsh history and Sir Anthony Hopkins is our favourite living Welsh person, according to a survey out today.

But their contribution was eclipsed by the Welsh people as a whole, who were cited as the one element most likely to stir pride in the nation by a quarter of respondents.
