There's a place in west Eugene where words and music and stories come together once a week.
It's called the "Spoken Word/Open-Mike Forum" at the Monroe Street Cafe, even if there's no longer any microphone to be found, thanks to some neighborly complaints that put the kibosh on the whole thing a couple of years ago.
A couple of months ago, however, the Wednesday night happening returned - with relish.
It's now a Eugene scene unplugged, if you will. Something reminiscent of a Greenwich Village cafe ...
