Macy's to offer collection of Vatican Library jewelry.(Brief Article)

NEW YORK - Just in time for Pope John Paul II's visit here this week, the first Vatican Library jewelry collection is being spotlighted at Macy's Herald Square.

The main floor area carrying the collection has been in place for several days, and an ad is scheduled to run today in the New York Times.

The jewelry is being produced under license by 1928, a fashion jewelry firm based in Los Angeles. The designs of the 214 pieces in the line are inspired by artifacts in the Vatican Library.
