INTRODUCTION

Many contributors to non-profit related literature have argued that, compared to other sectors, non-profit organisations tend to be more values expressive and that they generally attract employees that derive an intrinsic satisfaction from working for organisations with a social mission (Drucker, 1990; Jeavons, 1992; Hudson, 1999; Onyx, 1998; Preston, 1989).
