Rock singer Jimi Hendrix once said that rock and roll is the same as the blues. Hendrix, who died under mysterious circumstances in England in Sep. 1970, was one of the most talented African-American guitarists of his time. He is considered as a great blues singer in the mold of B.B. King, Chuck Berry, Howling Wolf, Willie Dixon and Ike Turner. Hendrix was the last artist to perform at the 1969 Woodstock festival in Woodstock, New York.
