The works of two prominent theorists, Jacques Derrida and Pierre Bourdieu, are examined and interrelated to address the law and literature nexus and how it affects social changes relating to exclusionary practices. The two theorists, in their respective but similarly titled essays, combined critiques of ideology with a close attention to the categories and institutions of both law and literature. A close look was also given to the power structures and relations in which law and literature logically cohere.
