The secretary of defense announced today the decision to appoint Scott F. Large as director of the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), with the concurrence of the director of national intelligence. Prior to his appointment, Large served as the NRO's principal deputy director, and recently as the director of source operations and management in the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency.
