WELSH composer Karl Jenkins' latest CD is based on the subject of grief. He believes it touches most of us in our lifetime and hopes listening to the CD will be a stirring experience.

The recording, called Stabat Mater and based on a 13th Century text among others, will be given its live, world premiere at Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral on March 15.

He says: "Grief is something that everyone has suffered to some extent at some point in their lives."
