King and Poitier will receive honors in recognition of their contributions to American culture. The awards ceremony will take place at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, on Dec 3, 1995.

Blues great B.B. King and famed actor Sidney Poitier are among the recipients of this year's Kennedy Center Honors for their contributions to the nation's culture.

Their lifetime work will be celebrated. with a gala performance at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC on Dec. 3. It will be taped for broadcast early next year on CBS-TV.
