IT'S usually councillors in town halls who make decisions on where government pennies should be spent in the community.
But a scheme in Gateshead is allowing young people to decide where funding should go to help other youngsters in their area.
There are 14 young people on the Gateshead Youth Panel.
Their job is to choose which projects and clubs in Gateshead deserve to receive money from government funding.
The panel, who are all aged 13 to 20, have so far awarded more than pounds 400,000 to help improve the lives of other young people in the ...
