GARDNER - When songwriter Don McLean wrote those lines as part of his 1971 hit song "American Pie," he was referring to Feb. 3, 1959, the day rock 'n' roll legend Buddy Holly died at age 22 in an Iowa plane crash. But Holly's music never did really die. It lives on and will be on display Friday night when Theatre at the Mount presents "Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story."
