Black Sea nations seek a clean development strategy.

Countries surrounding the Black Sea have embarked on a major project to clean up the polluted sea. The plan will cost $31 million over its initial three-year preparatory stage and may take 20 years to complete. A regional center has been established in Istanbul, Turkey, and the project is being supported by the EC, World Bank and various UN agencies. Many industries around the Black Sea are expected to be affected by the environmental project.
