Sometimes my wife just doesn't get it. Now, before you start firing off the slings and arrows of outrageous accusation that I'm a male chauvinist pig, let me explain. The Audi R8 - which we had by then had for a few days - was, she acknowledged, "beautiful" - but a while later she said I should not forget that Audi's range-topper is "just a car..."

Just a car!? The Audi R8 is "just a car" in the way the Mona Lisa is "just a painting"; the Taj Mahal "just a building"; the Victoria Falls "just a waterfall" or Princess Di "just a blonde chick".

Let's cut my wife a little ...
