WASTE matter will soon be getting used to create electricity at a facility in Cumbernauld.
Scottish Water's recycling facility at Deerdykes currently recycles "green waste" such as grass clippings, tree cuttings and shrub trimmings to produce an environmentally compost known as Pod.
Its "green electricity" project - which involves recycling food waste to provide energy - is intended to not only generate enough power to run the plant, but also provide a surplus which can be sold to sites in the neighbouring Westfield Industrial Estate and possibly the ...
