Multiculturalism theme set for Black History Month.(BLACK HISTORY)(Brief article)

In honor of its founder, Carter G. Woodson, the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) has chosen the origins of multiculturalism as the theme for Black History Month.

This February's official theme title is "Carter G. Woodson and the Origins of Multiculturalism."

A small number of intellectuals of the Progressive Era, including W.E.B. Du Bois (civil rights activist), Theodor Herzl (the visionary of Zionism) and Randolph Bourne (a social activist), believed that cultural differences should be embraced. But it was Woodson who did a great deal ...
