Talking to Europolitics, Fabrizio Tassinari, an assistant professor of political science at the University of Copenhagen, assesses the first results and the potential impact of the European Commission's Black Sea strategy, which is to be discussed at a high-level ministerial meeting scheduled for 14 February in Kiev (see In Brief). Tassinari is the author of A synergy for Black Sea regional cooperation' (CEPS, 2006) and currently works on a book that will explain why Europe fears its neighbours.
