A high school class studies the art of weaving by exploring and comparing the different techniques used around the world. The students learn to weave their own belts through the use of the Inkle loom, an easy-to-learn method that originated in England. Step-by-step instructions are included.

Weaving has a long history in many cultures. By including weaving in the art program, students can develop an empathy for weavers in other times and places.
