DALLAS, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 24, 1995--The Southland Corporation (NASDAQ: SLCM) today announced plans to refinance a portion of its existing public debt, which will increase its ability to accelerate the implementation of various strategic initiatives including plans for new store development.

The refinancing includes a tender offer for 40 percent of both its 5% First Priority Senior Subordinated Debentures due on December 15, 2003 ("5% Debentures") and 4 1/2% Second Priority Senior Subordinated Debentures (Series A) due on June 15, 2004 ("4 1/2% Debentures"). ...
