Ovarian cancer is the fifth most common cancer among women in the United States. The five-year survival rate is less than 40 percent, and approximately 13,000 women die of the disease each year. Recent attention has focused on risk factors such as inherited predisposition, dietary intake of calcium, lactose, beta carotene, fiber, alcohol and coffee.
