A 90th-minute penalty save by keeper Terry McCormick gained Brig a point they hardly deserved in an exciting derby.
With a somewhat flattering two-goal lead at half-time, Brig were given a second-half drubbing by Clitheroe.
In a typically fast and furious derby, Brig took the lead in the 39th minute.
David Eaton split the Clitheroe defence with a pass for Ryan Salmon to score his 22nd goal of the season.
