Pakistan every year is spending huge amounts of money on the import of palm oil for the manufacture of vanaspati ghee for use in the country:

Pakistan spent Rs. 31 billion foreign exchange on import of edible oils in 1994, this was stated by Mr. Munawar Khan Chairman, Pakistan. Vanaspati Manufacturers Association (PVMA). He said that Pakistan Vanaspati Manufacturers (PVMA) signed in March 1995 to import 1.2 million metric tons palm oil per year from Malaysia.
