AS THE horror story that Kenya has become unfolds, there is a weariness, a sameness creeping into the reporting from that beautiful country. Much like Iraq, the stories are growing to resemble stock war reporting - the body counts and repetition of trite analyses going nowhere near conveying the tragedy of a land torn apart.

If you had no knowledge of the country, you would think that the class/ethnic warfare being waged is happening in vast, sprawling slums in big cities with names such as Kakamega, Kericho, Eldoret, Kisumu, Nakuru and Naivasha.
