Artist Christo finally obtained permission to wrap the historic Reichstag building in Berlin, Germany, after 24 years of trying to convince authorities. The project required 120 assembly workers, 90 mountaineers, 100,000 sq. m. of polypropylene material and 15,600 m. of polypropylene rope. Christo explained that a familiar object's presence can be made more intense when it is veiled.
