The year 1995 has been compromised on as the year in which the centennial of the birth of motion pictures will be celebrated, a date that could be disputed by a variety of claimants with rival definitions of the motion picture. But there is no controversy that 1995 also marks the centennial of the birth of Buster Keaton, and it's no exaggeration to claim that Keaton is one of the definitions of the cinema.
