In this special feature, local man DONALD CAMPBELL reflects on his three-month secondment to the British Antarctic Survey.
Donald joined the Met Office in 1985, after having been a voluntary weather observer for five years. He has held a variety of posts based at Nottingham, London, Edinburgh, Belfast and overseas.
Originally from County Armagh, Donald has lived in Ballyclare for the past 22 years.
