The 1994 major US Supreme Court ruling that nurses who supervise lesser-skilled workers are supervisors not covered under labor law, NLRB v. Health Care and Retirement Corp., may affect two pending NLRB cases. The cases, from AK and NY, may have a widespread effect on many firms where team-based structures blur supervisor-worker labels.
