Hopes to set up mountain bikers' training camp at Rowney Warren

The 2012 Olympics could be on their way to Mid Beds.

It is understood Rowney Warren Woods, which stretch from Chicksands to the outskirts of Ampthill, could be in the running for training camp status ahead of the London Olympics in four years' time.

The woods, managed by The Forestry Commission and the Southill Estate, boast challenging mountain bike trails with events organised by Beds Fat Trax.
