Ex-policeman murder: man charged.

A MAN has been charged with the murder of former policeman David Ward who was found dead with head injuries in his own home.

The 25-year-old local man was arrested shortly after Mr Ward's body was discovered at his house in Wakefield in the early hours of Wednesday.

He was charged by West Yorkshire police on Thursday afternoon and is due to appear before Wakefield Magistrates on Friday.
