Oral cancer awareness of undergraduate medical and dental students.(Research article)

The incidence of oral cancer is increasing in the United Kingdom [1, 2, 3]. During the last decade of the 20 th century there was a 18% and 30% increase in oral cancer incidence in males and females respectively [1]. Despite being more prevalent in the elderly oral cancer is affecting younger patients [4]. Surgical techniques and non-surgical management of oral cancer have become more advanced in recent years but this has had little effect on 5-year survival.
