ONE of Portadown's best-known and most-respected publicans has died at the age of 84.

But although many will associate Mr William (Billy) Adams with the licenced trade, he was in his mid-50s before he bought the Edenderry bar with which his name was to become synonymous. Prior to that he had spent 40-plus years in the linen industry. And before that he had served his time in Walsh's nursery.
