Scientists on alert for return of the jellyfish.

SCIENTISTS are investigating the mauve stinger jellyfish invasion which wiped out Northern Salmon's stocks last year.

Last November's incident in waters off Glenarm and Red Bay was the first major invasion to affect British waters. Researchers fear the stingers could return to the UK coast in the next few years with potentially devastating consequences for marine life, according to a report on the Guardian's website.
