THE growth in popularity of overseas dog breeds is putting their British counterparts at risk of extinction, the Kennel Club says.
Registrations of some traditional British dogs, such as the fox terrier, have been dropping as their European cousins become more popular here.
Hugely popular before the Second World War, registrations of the fox terrier have dropped nearly 100 in two years to a fraction of the figure 60 years ago.
