IF ever a game was to serve as a confidence-booster to an ailing side then surely this has to be it.
Yes, it was another defeat and yes, it spelled the end of Halifax's interest in the EDF Energy National Trophy competition.
But what they must have gained is a feeling of self-belief that has been missing for much of the campaign and which they must build on if they are to lift some of the gloom that has settled on this so far forgettable season.
Hopefully part of the reason was a need to regain some pride ...
