Toy retail chain turns to German products to meet demand: crackdown on safety concerns leads to recalls.(RETAIL)

Though toy recalls have become routine, and in some cases, bizarre, the $22.5 billion toy industry will likely remain front and center this holiday season, according to local retailers.
The rise in recalls by manufacturers may appear disheartening, but makes perfect sense, according to information from the U.S. Consumer Protection Safety Commission.
Julie Vallese, director of information and public affairs for the commission, says U.S. safety standards are very clear, especially when it comes to toys.
