Maya shook the water droplets from her hands and called to her grandmother. "Dadima, I'm ready to learn to make chapatis."
Maya pulled out two small mixing bowls--one for Dadima and one for herself.
Dadima came into the kitchen. "Ah, I remember when I made my first chapati in India," she said. "Just do what I do."
Dadima measured one heaping cup of chapati flour and poured it into her bowl. Maya scooped a heaping cup of flour, but some fell to the floor.
